About Us
Тhe Experience Valley was established in 2016 when we realized that there is a need for alternative kindergarten and space for learning for our children and families in the Trakai district.
Our approach to education and learning
We believe that learning and growth are based on creativity, curiosity, joy, and interaction between mind, body, and spirit, but not with limited appreciation and grades.
We are constantly delving into various educational methodologies implemented in Lithuania and abroad. In the beginning, we chose a combination of Waldorf and outdoor pedagogy, as these methodologies were closest to the needs of our children. We were inspired by the opportunities and benefits of these practices.
We are happy that we can create a community kindergarten in Trakai Historical National Park, which is like an open classroom and playground for children, teachers, and parents.
When the first kids grew out of kindergarten, it was necessary to continue their education somewhere in a similar environment that would maintain the values and vision of the families in the kindergarten community.
In 2018 the founders opened the school only to several children and one teacher, turning one of the kindergarten spaces into a classroom. It was obvious that financially it is not possible to maintain a school and a job for a teacher with only a few kids to teach, but stubbornness and faith were bigger.
It was a valuable year as the team gained the necessary experience and saw that different learning methodologies are suitable for different children – for example, Waldorf pedagogy was not acceptable for all of them. The school project was halted following one year after gaining a lot of valuable insights.
We are opening a new school in September of 2020
The team which gained a lot of experience in school learning, continued the analysis of other educational models that would be in line with the Lithuanian national curriculum and at the same time create a positive space for learning, understanding and applying learning to children using different intellects and different ways of self-expression. After gaining experience and raising kindergarten children, we decided to continue the school project! :)
